Deputy Garner was killed responding to a crash on I-85, troopers said

Young said while Garner was helping the occupants, a 2018 Honda Accord, traveling southbound, lost control, left the roadway and went into the median.

The Honda struck the deputy while he was out of his vehicle, Young said.

We're told Deputy Garner sustained fatal injuries, and the driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Young says Abdulhafiz Abdullahi, 21, of Lawrenceville, Georgia is being charged with Homicide by Vehicle 1st Degree, and other charges are pending.
