Local manufacturer donates mask "ear savers" to Pickens County Schools

As many know by now, masks are a critical component in the fight against the coronavirus. But that doesn’t make them any easier to wear. The latest unfortunate side effect: ear discomfort; at its worst -- ear chafing -- because 2020.

That’s why United Tool and Moldin Liberty, created the “Ear and Tail” saver. It’s a 5-inch piece of plastic that pulls your mask up and off of your ears- with a hole in the middle to put your ponytail through.

"This tiny piece of plastic right here. It’s (having) a huge impact on everyone who has to wear a mask," Valerie Hall, the ISO Quality Manager at United Tool and Mold said. "I feel like the masks aren’t going away anytime soon. And I feel like this is a big help.”
