At midnight Tuesday deputies were urging people in one Greenville County neighborhood to stay in their houses and lock their doors as they search for a shooting suspect in the area.
Deputies were called to Piney Woods Lane just outside Greenville early Tuesday for reports of a shooting.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found one man who had been shot at least once, Lt. Jimmy Bolt said.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to Bolt.
"The suspect is still armed as far as we know at this time," Bolt said.
He is described as slender, wearing a yellow hoodie and black sweatpants with a white stripe, Bolt said.
