A crash involving a garbage truck and a pickup truck has led to the death of a driver, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Trooper Joe Hovis said the crash happened Tuesday about 9:50 a.m. on White Horse Road, about 2 miles west of Greenville.
Hovis said the 2018 International sanitation truck was headed north on White Horse Road and slowing in traffic when the 2009 Nissan pickup that was also heading north crashed into the back of the sanitation truck.
The driver of the Nissan was taken by ambulance to Prisma Health Greenville and died Wednesday just before noon, Hovis said.
