Positive COVID-19 test at primary school; person had contact with students

Greenwood County School District 52 has confirmed a positive COVID-19 test, according to a news release.

Someone who had been Ninety Six Primary School tested positive on Wednesday, Superintendent Dr. Rex Ward said.

Since Tuesday, the person has not come into contact with any district staff or students, according to Ward.

It is possible the individual had close contact with young students, so the district has provided "alternative learning and employment arrangements for those directly impacted."

Ward says everyone who may have come into close contact with the person who tested positive has been notified through the district's call-out system.
