Gettys Middle employee tests positive for COVID-19 after contact w/ parents

The principal at Gettys Middle School sent an email to parents and students Sunday night about an employee who tested positive for COVID-19.

The email said the employee had come in contact with school staff members and parents while infected.

It said everyone who came in contact with the person had been notified and were advised to self-quarantine and watch for symptoms.

The full email is below:

"Dear GMS Parents, Students, and Staff,

"Today we were saddened to learn that a Gettys Middle School employee has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The employee is in good condition, and we hope for a full recovery.

"While infected, the employee had contact with GMS staff members and parents. All individuals who we know to have come in contact with the employee have been notified directly by phone or email and have been advised to self-quarantine and to watch for symptoms.

"Please continue to equip yourself with information on how to prevent the spread of coronavirus.Valuable information is available at the Centers for Disease Control Website.

"Thank you for your help as we try to prevent the spread of coronavirus and care for members of our community who have been affected by it.
