Morgan Wallen Shares Snippet Of First New Song Following His Arrest

Morgan Wallen has been hard at work on his upcoming new album and wanted to get some feedback from fans. On Wednesday (June 3), the country singer turned to social media to share a brief clip of a new song called "Wasted On You."

"Wrote this with my buddies @thejoshthompson @ernest @charliehandsom3 yesterday," his caption says. "It’s just a voice note from my phone so not great audio quality, but I’m recording for my album again soon and wanted to get y’all’s opinion on this."

Take a listen to the song in the clip below.

This is the first taste of new music Wallen has given fans since he was arrested outside a Nashville bar on May 23.

The "More Than My Hometown" singer was arrested on public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges after being kicked out of Kid Rock's Honky Tonk on Broadway. He had reportedly kicked around glass items inside the music venue before being escorted out by security. Police reported that Wallen also had a strong odor of alcohol and he was arrested due to "being intoxicated in public, unable to take care of himself, and the reasonable likelihood the offense would continue."

On May 24, Wallen issued a public apology to fans and commended police for how they handled the embarrassing situation.

"Hey y’all just wanted to clear the air," Wallen said at the time. "I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other. We didn't mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected."

He concluded, "Thank you to the local authorities for being so professional and doing their job with class. Love y’all."

Wallen's latest song, "More Than My Hometown" dropped in April following his surprise release of "This Bar" in December. Both tracks are expected to be included on his forthcoming album.
