Troopers find 20 gallons of moonshine, firearm after traffic stop

North Carolina state officials are investigating after 20 gallons of suspected moonshine were found inside a car.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol posted on Facebook Tuesday, saying Trooper C. Oxendine stopped a vehicle in Cumberland County for speeding.

An investigation found 20 gallons of suspected moonshine in gallon jugs, as well as a firearm, the post said.

Highway patrol says the case was handed over to North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement for investigation.
