Your Thursday Morning #HurricaneFlorence Update

Currently #HurricaneFlorence is a Category 2 Storm but the size of this massive storm and the amount of water is pulling with it is the bigger story. Below you can see some amazing views of this incredible storm and the latest rain projections from our Weather Partner at WSPA 7News.

By this afternoon (Thursday) you'll likely see some of the outer bands of clouds coming in from the north in a counter clockwise fashion. By Friday, you'll notice winds increasing and you'll see more of the cloud pattern. When Saturday morning arrives we'll experience more winds and occasional gusts and by Saturday evening, current projections indicate that the Upstate will be on the north end of what will be a tropical depression. That's the "wet side" of the storm and as you can see from Christy Henderson's forecast, we're likely to get a great deal of rain from Saturday night into Monday morning.

Guys, we have trouble around here with a 2 inch downpour. So, pay attention to the rain predictions in your hometown and plan accordingly. We've learned that tonight's Zac Brown Band concert in Charlotte has been cancelled. As you've likely heard, South Carolina and Furman have both called off their Saturday games. Clemson will move up their Saturday game to around noon. The predicted wind/rain could cause flooding issues and the potential of power outages beginning early Sunday morning.

Just an amazing view of Hurricane Florence from the International Space Station this morning....
