Spartanburg Regional needs your sewing skills

Across the globe, face masks have become an extra barrier in limited supply.

Now, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is calling on the community to donate homemade cloth masks for certain staff to wear. According to hospital representatives, the masks will also go over N95 and surgical masks to increase their longevity three to five times.

The following is a press release sent from Spartanburg Regional.

Many members of the community have expressed interest in supporting Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System by sewing cloth masks. Now, Spartanburg Regional is asking for the public’s help creating homemade masks to be donated for use at our nursing facilities and hospital campuses.

These masks will be worn in our nursing facilities and by non-clinical hospital staff. On April 6, all associates began wearing masks upon entering Spartanburg Regional facilities. The community’s homemade masks will help with this effort.
