Residents in Seneca will be under a curfew Monday night into Tuesday after a tornado hit the area early Monday morning.

Debbie Williams, City Administrator of Seneca, said the curfew goes from 9 p.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday. Williams said citizens should remain at home, and not be out on the street.

She said the curfew will be enforced and is in place for the safety of residents due to downed power lines.

Williams said if someone needs to go to work during curfew hours, that pertinent information should be provided to the officer who stops them.

Violators will be issued a citation and the penalty will be at the discretion of the municipal judge, Williams said.
