Greenville County Schools announced a night planned to honor the high school class of 2020.
The district is organizing #BeTheLight for Wednesday, May 20, according to the district's director of media relations Tim Waller.
Residents are asked to turn on their porch lights from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to honor the graduating class, Waller said.
High school football stadium lights will also illuminate the night sky as seniors take part in drive-thru celebrations at their schools.
And at exactly 8:20 p.m., folks across the county are asked to wave their smartphones or flashlights while standing in their yard.
Other ways families can honor seniors include:
Put signs/balloons/streamers in front yard supporting the class of 2020
Decorate mailbox with high school’s colors and logos
Wear favorite high school colors
Send in pics of families under the lamplight or with yard signs/decorations toBetheLight@greenville.k12.sc.us

"What a great opportunity for everyone to be part of this well-deserved celebration of our seniors," Waller said.
