Health warning about Myrtle Beach sent out

Health officials in West Virginia sent out an alert Wednesday about Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The Preston County Health Department posted on its Facebook page that an outbreak of COVID-19 in the county was traced to recent trips to Myrtle Beach.

Three people in the county have tested positive for COVID-19, and tests are pending on other individuals.

"We would not be surprised to have additional positive cases in the days to come," officials said.

The health department is asking all Preston County residents who have returned from Myrtle Beach, or any other beach or vacation destination, in the last two weeks to self-quarantine for 14 days upon return.
