A man from England drowned in a Pickens County lake Friday, according to the county coroner.
Pickens County coroner Kandy Kelley says the drowning happened at the Cliffs boat ramp on Lake Keowee, around 5:40 p.m.
The coroner identified the victim as Derrick Andrew Otin, 24, from Nottingham, England.
The coroner says Otin was visiting a friend at the Cliffs.
Kelley says Otin recently graduated from Xavier University in Ohio in May of this year.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
