South Carolina state parks are requiring visitors to wear face masks in most state park facilities effective immediately.
The state park system made the announcement overnight in a Facebook post.
The mask requirement is for all visitors over 2 years old in buildings staffed by employees, or where the general public may gather, according to the post.
That includes park offices, visitor centers, stores, nature centers and restrooms.
State park officials recommend anyone renting cabins, camp sites or picnic shelters use CDC and DHEC guidelines regarding social distancing and for wearing masks.
Visitors who do not have a mask will be asked to remain outside of facilities.
