Prisma Health and SCDHEC partnered to host an 11 hour COVID-19 community testing event at Blue Ridge Elementary School. The event began at 8 a.m. Tuesday and stretched until 7 p.m.
Registration was not required and all of the testing was free.
924 people were tested Tuesday at the COVID-19 community testing site in Seneca, according to Prisma spokeswoman Sandy Dees.
According to Dees, that’s a record for the Upstate.
"I think we’re gonna probably do over 1,000 cars today," said Kerry Sease, Medical Director for the Bradshaw Institute for Community Child Health and Advocacy. "On our half days we’re averaging right around 500, some days over, some days a little bit less, so with an all day event like this we’re definitely going to hit 1,000."
