SC child taken to hospital after being found unresponsive in pool

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a 3-year-old child was found unresponsive in a pool.

Master Deputy Jimmy Watt said around 2:45 p.m. Saturday, dispatchers got a call from the Walhalla area about an unresponsive juvenile in a pool.

Watt said the pool was not located at the home where the child lived, but was on the same road.

When deputies arrived, medical personnel were performing life-saving measures on the child, Watt said.

We're told the 3-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment, but deputies say they will not be releasing any additional information about their condition.

Watt said the Sheriff's Office is conducting an inquiry, and since the investigation involves a juvenile, they will not be releasing any additional information.
