Manager of SC restaurant forced to close says he's been treated unfairly

The manager of Dolce Restaurant says he and other partners of the business have been treated unfairly, which is why he's appealing a cease and desist notice from Greenville County.

The order, dated July 9, cited a series of violations from the restaurant in accordance with Greenville County's Business Registration Ordinance, including an unusually high number of response calls by law enforcement during business hours, multiple arrests for illegal acts, failure to provide sufficient security measures, a materially false and inaccurate statement in the business registration application and failure to show current compliance with applicable state laws.

Christopher Johnson, the manager of Dolce Restaurant, expressed sorrow for the victims in theJuly 4 shooting at Lavish Lounge, which is merely a stone's throw away from Dolce.

The shooting claimed the lives of two people. But Tuesday, Johnson said he's been lumped in with the tragedy at that club.

"We’re not doing anything wrong," Johnson told WYFF News 4. "We've been here two and a half years and all of a sudden, we're getting fingers pointed at us right now. I just wanted to be treated fairly."
