A Haywood County sheriff's deputy has been shot during an incident Tuesday.
It happened in the early morning hours on Asheville Highway near Briar Patch Road in Canton.
So far, there is no information on what led up to the shooting. WYFF News 4 is working to get the condition of the deputy who was shot.
As of 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, Asheville Highway is closed in the area of the shooting. NCDOT is hoping to reopen the road by 9 a.m.
