Child flown to hospital after report of possible drowning at Upstate pool

Emergency officials responded Tuesday to a report of a possible drowning in Anderson County.

Anderson County dispatchers said the report came in just before 4 p.m. about a boy possibly drowning at the Chicola pool, on Louisiana Street in Honea Path, which is part of Anderson County Recreation Department.

Honea Path Fire Chief Jimmy Smith said the boy was found face-down in the pool.

Lifeguards on duty were able to revive the boy, and he was flown to the Greenville Memorial Hospital, Smith said.

Emergency medical officials at the scene later told WYFF News 4 that the boy is going to be fine.
