Long-time downtown Greenville cafe announces closing

A downtown Greenville bakery announced Monday it was planning to close down, blaming the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chocolate Moose Bakery and Cafe, located at 130 South Main St., posted on social media that its last day would be Aug. 29.

The post said the bakery has been around for 16 years, and the current owners have been in business since 2016.

"For over five months, we've stretched ourselves creatively, physically, and financially, working to find a sustainable business model in a post-COVID-19 world. But sometimes good business ownership means knowing when to call it. And it's time we call it."
