A now-former middle school teacher in South Carolina was sentenced to prison for having numerous conversations with a student that talked about meeting to engage in sexual activity, according to the South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.
Kenneth Howard McWilliams pleaded guilty to criminal solicitation of a minor and was sentenced to five years in prison on Monday.
Wilson said that in April 2017, McWilliams contacted a minor victim through Facebook Messenger and had conversations that talked about meeting to engage in sexual activity.
On April 11, the victim’s mother met with a deputy at the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, where she stated that she found inappropriate messages to her daughter from McWilliams, who was a middle school teacher, Wilson said.
