Emergency crews in Laurens County recovered the body of a teenager Thursday evening in Rabun Creek, near Hickory Tavern, according to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
Greg Lucas, with SCDNR, said the body of the 15-year-old boy was recovered about 5:20 p.m. by the department's dive team.
He was last seen jumping off the bridge on Wilsontown Road into the creek with friends about 3:30 p.m. and did not resurface, Lucas said.
Crews from the Hickory Tavern Fire Department responded to the scene.
