A South Carolina school district announced Monday that it was changing its schedule for all students to online learning after state health officials released information that gave the county a high coronavirus rating.
Laurens County School District 55 officials said the information from the Department of Health and Environmental Control showed Laurens County, which had been “moderate” for the prior two weeks, jumped back up to a “high” rating.
The district had previously announced that it would begin the school year on Sept. 8, on a “hybrid” schedule, but Monday's information from DHEC changed the opening to all e-learning, officials said.
