Two men accused of shooting at Spartanburg deputies

Two men are behind bars in connection with a shooting in which two deputies say they were targeted, the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said.

Around 4:15 a.m. Sunday, two deputies said they were in the parking lot of True Timber Outdoors, located on Accurate Way in Inman.

Solicitor Barry Barnette said during a bond hearing that the two officers were catching up on paperwork.

The deputies said they heard several gunshots without warning and saw muzzle flashes coming from nearby I-26 East. The Sheriff's Office said the deputies moved from their parked positions but continued to hear several more gunshots.

After calling in the shooting, a responding deputy noticed a green Chevrolet Camaro driving quickly on I-26 East away from site where the deputies were.
