Large parties over weekend being investigated by Clemson University, police

Suspensions could be imminent for Clemson students who attended or hosted large gatherings or parties over the weekend, according to university officials.

Joe Galbraith, associate VP for strategic communications, said Wednesday, there were several large gatherings or parties hosted over the weekend by Clemson University students.

While no students or organizations have been suspended yet, Galbraith said the university will issue suspensions to anyone who was found to be breaking COVID-19 restrictions.

“The university was made aware of several student gatherings that took place over the weekend. Individuals or organizations found in violation of COVID-19 health and safety directives outlined in the Student Code of Conduct in an egregious manner will be subject to interim suspension from the University pending the outcome of an investigation," Galbraith said.
