Upstate man breaks into home and sexually assaults person inside

An Upstate man is in jail accused of breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a person in the home, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandon Wayne Arnold, 38, of Seneca, was arrested Friday and is charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

An arrest warrant said Arnold had broken into a Seneca home on Oct. 4 without consent and had sex with someone inside the home without their consent.

Deputies were called to the home about 7:45 a.m. that morning about the assault.

Arnold remains in the Oconee County Detention Center with no bond.
