Kelsea Ballerini shocked Carly Pearce in a hilarious prank call.
Ballerini prank called a few friends on Elle’s “Phoning It In” segment. Elle shared the segment on Tuesday (May 6), along with Ballerini’s digital cover story. The Patterns star called Pearce under the guise that she’d been hacked, and there was “incriminating stuff” involving the two country stars on her phone.
“Holy s***,” Pearce replied. “Are you talking like when we talked s*** about [name redacted]?”
Ballerini burst out laughing, and assured Pearce, “it’s not texts. …I’m thinking it’s probably the time that we all were on the balcony. Remember?” Pearce clarified that the people in the photo would have been herself, Ballerini and Maren Morris. It was taken about four years ago. The hummingbird star said, “yeah, I mean, whatever. We were drunk.”
“That’s hilarious and you just sacred the s*** out of me,” Pearce said when Ballerini revealed it was just a prank call. Pearce shared the clip on her Instagram story and wrote: “the blackmail this woman has on me.” Watch that moment here.
During her interview with Elle, Ballerini — an Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year nominee — spoke about some of the monumental moments in her career, including her first headlining arena tour, her latest studio album, serving as a coach on The Voice for the first time, and more. She said in her interview with Elle that a few years ago, her manager told her: “‘You need to stop acting like you’re new here.’ So I’ve been trying to stand in my success more and not make myself smaller. I think that’s a lesson for all women—to be really proud about our wins.”
