Megan Moroney ascends above Cloud 9 with “her most self-assured songwriting yet.”

Moroney, 28, released her long-awaited third studio record on Friday (February 20). The 15-track album includes the previously-released title track, “6 Months Later,” “Beautiful Things” and “Wish I Didn’t.” Moroney also unveils highly-anticipated collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves, marking full circle moments for the Georgia-born country star. She teased a collaboration with Sheeran in an interview with PEOPLE in November 2025, saying, “I think when the time is right and the song is right, it'll happen.” She also nodded to Musgraves’ 2013 debut studio album, Same Trailer Different Park, as her inspiration to start writing her own music when the two artists were featured next to one another in a Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit in 2024. Moroney said in a handwritten note to fans hours before Cloud 9’s debut, “never in a million years would I have guessed I’d have songs with Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves, but I hope it inspires any and all dreamers out there to keep going. Your wildest dreams are not out of reach.”

“I had the most fun I’ve ever had writing these songs/dreaming up this world and a majority of this album was created right in the midst of the ‘Am I Okay? Tour.’ The pure joy y’all brought me night after night resulted in so many of these songs and ideas so I can’t thank y’all enough for inspiring me,” Moroney wrote. “There’s a newfound confidence woven throughout Cloud 9 along with humor, honesty, heartbreak (duh), softness and love. It’s got everything I love about country music. …It’s a long way down. I hope you love it. See you soon.”
