Bobby Bones Show Recalls School Days From Getting in Trouble To Grades

A listener asked Bobby who on the Bobby Bones Show struggled the most in school and got into the most trouble, prompting each member to reflect on their academic experiences.

Bobby began by removing himself from consideration, stating that he never got into trouble in school and was focused on good grades to get out of there. Amy described her grades as “passable,” explaining that she earned a mix of As, Bs, and Cs, but never received a D. When asked about discipline, she clarified that she was not in serious trouble, though she was frequently late to class. She recalled being on the drill team, where tardiness resulted in having to stay after and perform kicks as demerits.

Eddie described his grades as consistently poor, saying he was often just trying to earn Ds to avoid summer school. He explained that he frequently checked his end-of-year results to see if he had passed. When asked if he had ever received failing grades, Eddie confirmed that he had gotten Fs “all the time” and attended summer school twice. In terms of discipline, Eddie said his main issue was tardiness, but he also shared that the worst trouble he got into was punching a classmate in choir. He explained that the student had repeatedly poked him despite a warning, leading him to turn around and punch him. Eddie said he was suspended for one day as a result.

Lunchbox recalled that he received his first C in fifth grade and admitted his grades declined from there. He earned a mix of As, Bs, Cs, and Fs throughout school. When asked about discipline, Lunchbox confirmed that he had been suspended. He described an incident during a volleyball playoff game against Conley, where he and a friend tore up an opposing team’s sign that read “Trash the Trojans” after their team won. He said they threw the torn pieces like confetti over the opposing team, resulting in a two-day suspension.

Bobby was surprised at Eddie’s academic struggles, noting that it contrasted with his expectations. Eddie reiterated that school was difficult for him, even into college. His grades initially prevented him from getting into college, requiring him to take classes locally before eventually improving enough to attend Sam Houston State. Lunchbox added that his focus in high school was more on socializing than academics, saying he “dominated the social scene.” In contrast, Bobby said he had little interest in the social aspect of school and was focused on finishing and moving on.
