Lunchbox Campaigns for His Own Office To Look More Important

Lunchbox wants his own office at work, because he believes having a dedicated space would earn him more respect and elevate his status around the building.

According to Lunchbox, having an office would make him appear more professional when meeting with coworkers and business contacts. He said that instead of having conversations in hallways or production rooms, he could invite people into his office and conduct meetings in a more formal setting. Bobby questioned why Lunchbox needed an office when he does not regularly conduct business meetings. Lunchbox admitted he does not currently have many meetings but argued that the appearance of having an office would make him seem more important and successful. Bobby pointed out that the building already has several available offices and conference rooms that employees can reserve when needed. The show debated whether Lunchbox had done enough to justify receiving a private office. Lunchbox argued that showing up to work every day for decades should be enough proof that he deserves one. He imagined inviting artists and visitors into his office and showing them where he works. Bobby pointed out that Lunchbox rarely interacts with artists when they visit the studio and joked that he often avoids eye contact altogether. Lunchbox countered that having an office might create more opportunities for those conversations.

When asked what he would put in his office, Lunchbox said he would likely decorate it with photos of himself alongside celebrities. Amy shared that she does not have an office and has never felt the need for one. When she meets with clients, she uses a conference room or boardroom. Lunchbox acknowledged that the boardroom was a strong option but he wanted something that belonged exclusively to him. Amy suggested that if Lunchbox wanted to elevate his professional image, he could start by changing the way he dresses. She noted that he often wears the same hoodie and jeans. Lunchbox defended his wardrobe by comparing himself to celebrities such as Adam Sandler and Justin Bieber, both of whom are known for dressing casually. Bobby noted those individuals have earned the freedom to dress however they want because of their accomplishments and success.

Bobby proposed a compromise. He encouraged Lunchbox to start using the shared office spaces already available in the building and to consistently present himself as if he already had the role he wants. That included dressing more professionally, utilizing the office resources available to him, and demonstrating that he would regularly use a dedicated office if one were assigned. Lunchbox agreed to the challenge. Bobby told him that if he could consistently handle the smaller steps, they could work toward bigger goals in the future.
