Bobby Bones Gets an Unexpected Apology After Defending Stella Lefty From an Online Critic
Bobby recently found himself in the middle of a social media confrontation, but the story ended in a way he never expected.
While scrolling through comments on an Instagram clip from a recent episode of The Bobbycast featuring rising country artist Stella Lefty, Bobby noticed one commenter repeatedly attacking the singer.
The criticism wasn't directed at Bobby, which is why it caught his attention.
"I wouldn't have responded if he wasn't attacking her," Bobby explained.
The commenter accused Lefty of benefitting from nepotism and posted several negative remarks about her music. Curious, Bobby visited the person's profile and discovered that the commenter was actually an aspiring musician himself.
That's when Bobby decided to respond.
According to Bobby, the message he left was simple:
"Two things I would do. I would take down your comment. I'd also take down you playing on your Instagram. Both suck."
The exchange ended there, and Bobby didn't think much more about it. His main frustration was seeing someone use his social media page to tear down an artist who was simply sharing her music.
But then something surprising happened.
The commenter reached out with an apology!!
During the show, Bobby shared a voicemail he received from the man, who identified himself as Ben from Myrtle Beach.
In the message, Ben acknowledged that his comment was inappropriate and apologized directly to Bobby.
"You yelled at me on Instagram about a comment I left on your post with Stella Lefty," the voicemail said. "I just wanted to apologize to you. It was distasteful to comment that, and I do apologize."
The rare apology caught everyone on the show off guard.
"It's so rare to hear from the face on the other side of the comment," Amy said.
Bobby agreed and shared his theory about what often happens on social media.
"I think sometimes they don't think their stuff's really getting noticed or that there are real people behind it," he said. "When you respond, some people do get a wake-up."
Instead of continuing the argument, Bobby said he plans to remove his comment and give the situation a clean ending.
"If he's going to apologize, I'm going to take down both comments," Bobby explained.
The moment led to a larger conversation about online behavior, accountability, and the reminder that there are real people behind every post, comment, and profile.
As for Stella Lefty, Bobby remains a big supporter! He pointed out that her current success is helping spotlight women in country music, with several female artists currently making waves on the charts.
